Wye Nursery Inc. was founded in 1957 by the father of the current owner/operator Karl Fischer. Karl is a fourth generation horticulturist.

 

The nursery began as a landscape design business, which included growing a portion of the plant stock used. This provided access to a broad selection of quality and sometimes hard to find landscaping plants, for use in it's plantings.

 

In time other landscaper designers recognized the quality and variety selection of plants produced by Wye Nursery. This led to the gradual conversion  of the company to an exclusively wholesale plant production nursery.

 

Currently the nursery consists of 220 acres of a wide range of exclusively "in ground" plant production. Hollies have emerged as a specialty for Wye Nursery due to the many selections available and the adaptability to growing conditions in the Mid-Atlantic region.
